We are pleased to announce our new Wound, Ostomy, and Continence nursing service at our facility. Registered Nurse, Cindy Cross, is an integral part of our WOCN service and will collaborate with each referred patient’s medical team for heightened communication, medical attention, and specific wound/ostomy treatment.
Our new Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing (WOCN) service aims to restore patient confidence and uphold the Granite Falls Municipal Hospital focus on patient-centered care. Our goal at Granite Falls Municipal Hospital is to alleviate unnecessary worry and confusion that patients dealing with a new and unfamiliar wound or recent ostomy procedure typically encounter. A Wound, Ostomy, and Continence (WOC) Nurse is on staff and able to answer patient questions. Patients want to know how to best incorporate ongoing care and assistance into their lives, and what they can do to aid in proper self-care and recovery. Because the nature of WOC services often require frequent medical visits over an extended period of time, it’s important we provide local WOC nursing care for our patients. Not only can we provide premium WOC care and assistance, but we can reduce unnecessary drive time, ease concerns, and reduce costs. Reducing stress by helping patients locate and obtain WOC specific products and supplies is important to us. We’ll do everything we can to help patients return to daily life and healthy lifestyles as quickly as possible.
Studies have shown that WOC nurses are a key factor in achieving better patient outcomes related to wound, ostomy, and continence conditions. We are pleased to offer this service and WOC Nursing staff at our facility.
