Darrell is a family physician with special interests in geriatrics and cardiology. He has helped develop the CALS (Comprehensive Advanced Life Support) Course for the Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians. He is active in teaching medical students, residents and other health care professionals including the medical personnel who staff the U.S. Embassies throughout the world. Darrell has been named Minnesota Rural Health Hero in 2001, Physician of the Year in 2001 by the Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians, and Physician of the Year in 2003 by the American Academy of Family Physicians.
