The Granite Falls Ambulance provides the area with Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) services.
Making approximately 900 emergency runs per year, the service intercepts and assists BLS ambulance services in the area, as well as maintains the contract for the Veterans Administration for greater southwestern Minnesota. Our ambulance services transfer acutely ill patients from Granite Falls Health and surrounding healthcare facilities over long distances while providing safe and quality care which meet or exceed the needs of the patient and their family.
All EMT Basics are IV certified and can administer variance-approved medications. The Ambulance Service has four ambulances, all with state of the art equipment and a full spectrum of ALS medications. Staff operates with standing orders or direct communication with the patient’s physician.
Our certified Community Paramedics (CP) are licensed by the State of Minnesota and are experienced personnel with at least 5 years of experience as paramedics working for an ambulance service. Our CP’s have completed a specialized training course to earn their Community Paramedic Licensure.
